Delivery & site access.
What to have ready before a 20-tonne tipper turns up — and what happens on the day. These sit alongside our Terms & Conditions.

01How we deliver
Standard deliveries are made by 8-wheel tipper, tipped in loads of up to 20 tonnes. Smaller loads can be arranged on request — just ask when you order, as part loads may be priced differently.
We deliver across South Yorkshire, West Yorkshire, Derbyshire and Humberside (see Areas Covered). If your site is outside those areas, call the depot and we'll tell you whether we can help.
02Delivery dates and times
- We'll agree a delivery day with you, and a time slot where we can. Times are estimates — traffic, weather and quarry queues can move them, and we'll keep you updated if they do.
- Someone should be on site to show the driver where to tip, unless you've agreed a tipping position with us in advance.
- If nobody's there and there's no agreed position, the driver will tip as close as safely possible to where you asked, or may return the load (see Failed deliveries).
03Site access
A loaded 8-wheel tipper is a large, heavy vehicle — up to 32 tonnes when full. Before your delivery, please make sure that:
- There's a clear, firm and level route for the vehicle to get in, tip and get back out safely.
- Gateways and access roads are wide enough, and there are no low bridges, branches or other obstructions on the way in.
- There's enough overhead clearance at the tipping point for the body to raise fully — check for overhead power and phone lines.
- The ground where we tip will take the weight of a loaded vehicle. Soft ground, fresh concrete, cellars and drains can give way.
- You've told us about any restrictions — width or weight limits, school times, gate codes, site inductions or PPE requirements.
The driver has the final say on whether it's safe to enter your site or tip in a particular spot, and may refuse if it isn't.
04Driveways and private ground
If you ask our driver to leave the public road — to tip on a driveway, yard, lawn or other private ground — you accept responsibility for any damage to that ground, or to kerbs, paving, drains, manholes and services beneath it, caused by the weight of the vehicle. We'll take care, but we can't know what's under the surface.
We'll be responsible for damage caused by our driver's negligence.
05Tipping on the road
We can't tip on the public highway or pavement unless the right permission is in place. If material has to be placed on the road, you're responsible for getting any licence or permit the local council requires, and for lighting and guarding it.
06Waiting time
Each delivery includes a reasonable time on site to get in, tip and leave. If the vehicle is kept waiting beyond that — because access isn't ready, the tipping area isn't clear, or for loading on a muck-away or hire job — we may charge waiting time at our current rate, which we'll tell you when quoting.
07Failed deliveries
If we can't deliver because the site is inaccessible, unsafe, or nobody is available and no tipping position was agreed, we may:
- return the load to the depot and charge for the wasted journey and any re-delivery, or
- with your agreement, tip at the nearest safe and suitable point.
Please call the depot on 07807 554593 as early as you can if anything changes on the day.
08When the load arrives
- You or your representative may be asked to sign the delivery note. Signing confirms the load was delivered — not that you've accepted its quality.
- The weight on the weighbridge ticket or delivery note is the quantity we've delivered.
- Check the material when it's tipped and before you use it. Tell us about any problem within 48 hours, with photos if possible.
- Once the load is tipped it's your responsibility — including keeping it safe, covered if needed, and clear of the road.
09Muck away collections
- Spoil should be ready to load when the vehicle arrives, with room for the tipper and your loading machine to work safely.
- Loads must be made up of the waste you described to us — see Muck away and site clearance in our Terms.
- The driver won't take a load that would overweight the vehicle, or that contains undeclared or hazardous material.
10Weather and delays
In very wet or icy weather we may postpone a delivery if the site or the roads aren't safe for a loaded vehicle. We'll let you know as soon as we can and rebook at the earliest available slot. We aren't liable for losses caused by delays outside our reasonable control.
Speak to the depot before you order — we'd rather sort it up front.
